Youghal Golf Club Drive In December 2016

President & Captains’ Drive In – 4th December 2016 12 Noon 

Please join us on Sunday 4th December at 12 noon to support your President Eileen Farrell, Men’s Captain Donnacha O’Brien, Ladies Captain Sharon Ormonde and Junior Captain Andrew O’Brien for this years Drive In.  We would ask as many members as possible to support our Officers on this very special day.  Pa will have his famous mulled wine ready to warm you up against the cold frosty weather.

The Drive In will be followed by our annual Christmas Mixed Foursomes at 1pm, with a shotgun start.  Price for Golf and a bowl of delicious homemade Irish Stew when you get back to the clubhouse will be €12.50 per person.  Don’t miss out….add your name to the board in the clubhouse to join this great fun event.  The Mixed Committee have been busy buying lots of prizes for us all to enjoy!

We will also have Presentation of the Christmas Hampers Competition which was kindly sponsored by Past Captains Philip Crowe and Donie McCarthy.  Congratulations to the winners of this fantastic hampers, we look forward to presenting them to you that evening.

Come along on Sunday 4th December and enjoy the atmosphere of the Drive In, the enjoyment of the Mixed Foursomes and the hospitality of the Clubhouse to start of the Christmas festivities at Youghal Golf Club!

Youghal Golf Club will hold it’s Annual Mass for Deceased Members and Friends on Thursday 24th November at 7.30pm in the Club House.

There will be light refreshments served after the Mass.

The  competition is open to all male amateurs aged 30 or over on 1st Jan in the year of the event. The lowest handicap permitted is 16, and the lowest handicap of a pair will be 36. Format: Fourball, Matchplay off scratch, home and away. Each team will consist of five pairings. Four card eligibility will apply with the handicap the lowest previous year. No caddies permitted.

In each round, except in the final, the competing teams shall on the same day, play three matches on the course of one of the teams and two matches on the course of the other team . The course on which the three matches shall be played shall be on the course of the club drawn first in each round. Following completion of Round 1, there will be a draw for Round 2 to include winners of Round 1 and 1st Round Byes. No referees until Munster Finals. Neutral venues for Area Finals and Provincial Semi Finals

Round 1 to be completed by 12th June

Round 2 to be completed by 3rd July

Round 3 to be completed by 17th July

Round 4 to be completed by 31st July
