Ladies Open 3-Ball in aid of Daffodil Day

A worthy cause!!

A fantastic day was had in Youghal Golf Club yesterday, 2nd of March, where our Ladies hosted a 3-Ball in aid of Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day is a vital part of the work of the Irish Cancer Society involves helping those at the end of their cancer journey to die in their own home, surrounded by those who love them.

This service is carried out by our Night Nurses who provide excellent care in the patients home, giving them comfort, familiarity and dignity in the last nights of their life.

The Irish Cancer Society is the only organisation which provides this service and receives no government funding

We were delighted that our Lady Captain, Amanda O’Neill-Coyne, was able to make a presentation to
Anne McCarthy from Cancer Support on behalf of the club. Daffodil Day will be on March 11th so it’s still not too late to get involved. For more information on how you can organise an event or simply donate please click here

Congrats to our winners on the day, Breda O’Donoghue, Paula Brennan and Mary  Coleman with an impressive 55pts just edging out Margaret Fenton, Jo Jo Tobin and Ber Henerby by the smallest of margins.

We have a full house on Sunday with two competitions taking place.

Michael Landers producing a great score of 36 points over 14 holes certainly catches the eye. Timmy is sharpening up his scissors to cut the handicaps soon as we speak!!

In the mixed foursomes Eoghan McCarthy and Sharon Ormonde came out on top in what was an enjoyable day for all out on course.
